Nine15 is a 23-story apartment tower located on North Franklin Street in the heart of Tampa, Florida’s downtown Arts and Entertainment District. Existing in a space between hi-rise residential and mixed-use, the property offers over 9,000 square feet of ground level retail, and restaurants in addition to the 362 one and two-bedroom apartment homes. Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio’s design speaks to a modern aesthetic while referencing its Florida roots. This is seen in the vertically offset windows, sunshade elements, the bold color scheme, Cero Design’s six-story mosaic, as well as the parking deck’s aluminum screens, whose stylized design is patterned on local marsh plants.
We laser-cut RJTR’s marsh-plant design in .125” aluminum panels, and framed them in 2” aluminum tube and angle. After fabrication, we applied a Kynar 500 finish for maximum durability in Florida’s challenging salt-air and sunshine environment. It was our privilege to provide DPR Construction this small contribution to Downtown Tampa’s current development renaissance, overlooking N. Franklin and E. Cass Streets.
